We have pets...cats & dogs who often try to chew on wild weeds/grasses that sprout up. We won't use poisonous chemicals due to this. You can use one gallon of white vinegar to 1 cup salt, & add 1 Tbsp of liquid dishwashing detergent (this allows the vinegar & salt to "sink in" to the dirt/weed better). Mix all/spray w/spray bottle directly on the target weed. You might have to do this once a week around your property as things sprout up here & there....like on your weekly "yard day." But, in short time, you will eliminate the weeds you target & thus, eliminate their ability to germinate for newer sprouts nearby. ONLY use it on places you do not want to PLANT anything else ever....like along curbs, cracks in patio blocks, edgings, fencerows, (in the West, we have noxious tumbleweed grow in unplanted areas....you have to cut/ burn them to keep them from spreading, & then spray the root area with this mixture to keep unseen seeding from sprouting again).
