I have a family member who is a true baseball fan. She loves everything and anything that has a baseball. She told me she had seen a baseball snowman, however, she felt it was pricey.

So, I decided to recreate a similar version using some leftover greenery, berries, fabric, paint, etc. to try to lower the cost, and I am really pleased with how the baseball snowman turned out! I think he is cute!

Materials needed for the DIY project

Materials needed:

  • Wooden round, six inches
  • Three baseballs
  • White paint
  • Faux snow
  • Greenery
  • Christmas pick
  • Christmas material
  • Black twine
  • Modge podge
  • Hot glue
  • E6000 glue
  • Black and orange vinyl
  • Cricut
  • Scissors
Painting the wooden round white

1. Paint

I started by painting the wooden round white.

Gluing the baseball to the base

2. Glue the baseball to the round

Once the paint dried, I used a combination of hot glue and E6000 glue to hold the first baseball in place.

Adding faux snow to the base

3. Add faux snow

I used Modge Podge to cover the base and then added the faux snow.

Gluing baseballs together to make a snowman

4. Glue the second and third baseballs

After a couple of hours, I glued the second baseball using the same combination of hot glue and E6000 glue. I repeated the same step, a couple of hours later, adding the third baseball.

Giving the baseball snowman a face

5. Make the snowman's face

I used the Cricut to make the baseball snowman's face. However, you can do it freehand.

Measuring the fabric

6. Make the scarf and hat

I cut a piece of Christmas material, 9 1/2" long by 4 1/2" wide to use for the hat. I also cut another piece, 14' long by 2" wide to use for the scarf.

Gluing the hat to the baseball snowman

I made an inside fold, about 1/4 inch, to the piece of material I used for his hat. Then, I hot glued the material all around the baseball to simulate a hat.

Gathering the fabric

I then gathered the excess material on top of the baseball with a piece of black twine. I then made small cuts on top of the material to simulate a fringe.

Tying a scarf around the snowman's neck

I folded in half, length-wise, the 14" by 2" piece of material to make his scarf, and made small cuts to both ends of the material to simulate a fringe. I then hot-glued the scarf in place.

Adding Christmas greenery to the base

7. Embellish the base

For the final step, I added a Christmas pick and greenery to the bottom of the wooden round.
