Why do I have fluctuating water pressure from my bath tap?

In the city where I live we've experienced major changes in water pressure which in some cases has caused the irrigation heads to actually pop off when the timer engages to water the plants so it may be an issue for you as well which is unable to be fixed by you. Maybe check around your neighborhood to see if this is an ongoing problem. Some of my neighbors have added a water regulator valve to their plumbing at the connection between the city line and the property plumbing line. Many cities are hesitate to admit the variation being of any consequence to their residents.

Is it just this fixture or is it throughout your house? It could be a slew of different things from a blockage, other water running at the same time, to the city itself. If you can run sort of controlled experiments, you might be able to narrow the issue down.

I had a problem with "trash" in the lines which would block part of the path of the water flow. We had to blow the lines out. It was due to maintenance by the water board in our area. Another problem might be the shower head (if that's the only place). Place a plastic bag filled with white vinegar around the shower head to clean all the small jets. Soak for an hour. I use an old toothbrush after that to break up deposits.

Start with the faucet aerators and see if there are mineral deposits in them, either replace or clean them out. Check to see if someone is running another water source at a different location in the house, this could draw water away and drop the pressure when running or rebuild pressure when it is stopped. Something like a dishwasher or a washing machine, toilet flushing and refilling.

Clean out your faucets and shower head with vinegar and water solution. Right now where I live we are in drought conditions, which also causes the water pressure to fluctuate because of broken pipes down the street. I had a pipe break at my meter because of the extream heat. So check your water meter first.
